Herbed Cheese Spread

 This is a low fat cheese spread. Serve it with crackers or toasted bread.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup(s) , Plain Low-Fat Yogurt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon(s) , Basil and Thyme Minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Lemon Zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Pepper

Instructions:
Line a mesh strainer with 100 percent cotton cheesecloth, coffee filter, or a white paper towel and place over a bowl. Spoon in the yogurt. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or until it is cream-cheese consistency. Discard the liquid in bowl.

Transfer the yogurt to a small bowl. Stir in the basil, garlic powder, lemon rind, and pepper until well mixed.
