Cherry Cobbler

 "This is a very good recipe from a neighbor, and it is requested often. Fresh or frozen cherries may be used in this recipe." Original recipe yield: 1 - 9 inch square cobbler.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 6 tablespoon(s) , butter
  • 1 cup(s) , self rising flour
  • 2 1/2 cup(s) , sugar
  • 1/2 cup(s) , sweet milk
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) , boiling water
  • 2 cup(s) , cherries

Instructions:
Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in baking dish. Combine flour 2 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup sugar and the milk to make dough. Pour dough over melted butter. Add boiling water. Add remaining sugar and cherries. Bake at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
