Hazelnut Crackles

 Hazelnuts have a nice distinct flavor, these are great with a cup of hot coffee.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1/2 cup(s) , Butter Softened
  • 1 cup(s) , Light Brown Sugar Packed firm
  • 1 large , Egg
  • 1 ounces , Unsweet Chocolate Melted
  • 1 1/4 cup(s) , Flour Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon(s) , Cream of Tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup(s) , Hazelnuts Toasted and Chopped
  • 2 tablespoon(s) , Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon(s) , Cinnamon Mixed with the Sugar

Instructions:
Cream together the brown sugar and egg, until light; beat in egg. Beat in the cooled melted chocolate. Add sifted flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt; mix well. Chill dough until firm. Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Mix the chopped toasted hazelnuts with the cinnamon-sugar in a shallow bowl. Roll balls in the mixture and place on lightly greased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake cookies at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes
