INGREDIENTS:
- 3/4 cup(s) , Sugar
- 3 tablespoon(s) , Shortning
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Lemon Extract
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Vanilla
- 2 large , Eggs
- 1 cup(s) , Flour
- 2 tablespoon(s) , Unsweetened Cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) , Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) , Baking Soda
- 2 tablespoon(s) , Chopped Nuts
- 1/3 cup(s) , Buttermilk
- 2 teaspoon(s) , Powdered Sugar

| Instructions: |
Heat oven to 350°. Spray 9" round cake pan with
nonstick cooking spray; dust lightly with flour.
In large bowl, beat sugar and shortening until
well mixed. Add lemon extract, vanilla and eggs;
beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Lightly spoon
flour into measuring cup; level off. Add flour and
remaining ingredients except powdered sugar. Beat
at low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at
medium speed. Pour into sprayed and floured pan.
Bake 20-30 minutes until toothpick tests clean.
Cool 10 minutes on wire rack. Using small
strainer, sprinkle top of cake with powdered
sugar. Cool completely before serving. |
