Key Lime Pie
Submitted by: Jimmy
This is a very good recipe that is topped with meringue. Lime are my favorite fruit so I really love this recipe.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 whole , Graham Cracker Crust Baked
  • 3 large , Eggs Separated
  • 1 can(s) , Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1/2 cup(s) , Lime Juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) , Cream of Tarter
  • 6 tablespoon(s) , Sugar

Instructions:
In a deep mixing bowl, add egg yolks to sweetened condensed milk with electric mixer.
Slowly, add lime juice.
When thoroughly mixed, put into cooled shell and chill in refrigerator at least 6 hours.
Make meringue: Leave egg whites at room temperature.
Beat them with 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
Gradually add 6 tablespoons sugar, beating until all sugar is dissolved.
Spread meringue on top of the chilled pie, sealing edges.
Bake in 350 F preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until peaks are golden brown.
