INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pound(s) , Mozzarella Cheese in 2" x1/2" rectangles
- 2 large , Eggs Beaten
- 1/4 cup(s) , Flour
- 2/3 cup(s) , Seasoned Bread Crumbs
- 0 as needed , Olive Oil
- 1 large , Garlic Clove Crushed
- 28 ounces , Crushed Italian Tomatoes
- 0 to taste , Salt and Pepper
- 1 teaspoon(s) , Oregano Crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) , Crushed Dried Basil

In three separate bowls, put eggs, flour and seasoned dry bread crumbs. Dip cheese in flour, then egg, then crumbs. Place on wax paper. Refrigerate 1 hour. Fry cheese in olive oil, turning once. Drain and serve with sauce. SAUCE: In 2 quart saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil, brown garlic and remove; add crushed tomatoes and seasonings. Simmer 45 minutes, uncovered. |
