Tomato Sauce

 Tomato Sauce is a mother sauce which many other sauces can be made from

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 tablespoon(s) , E.V.Olive Oil
  • 1 large , Onion Chopped
  • 15 ounces , Tomato Sauce
  • 6 ounces , Tomato Paste
  • 1/2 cup(s) , Dry Red Wine
  • 1 teaspoon(s) , Dried Oregano Crushed
  • 1 teaspoon(s) , Dried Basil Crushed
  • 0 to taste , Salt
  • 2 large , Garlic Cloves Minced

Instructions:
Heat oil in a wide frying pan over medium heat; add onion and Garlic and cook, stirring often, until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, wine, oregano and basil. Bring to a simmer; then simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt.
Makes about 4 cups sauce
