Braised Red Cabbage

 This is a sweet and sour cabbage dish, it is very good and takes less than 30 minutes to make.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 medium , Red Cabbage
  • 2 tablespoon(s) , Butter
  • 1/4 cup(s) , Water
  • 1/4 cup(s) , Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 medium , Apple
  • 1/4 cup(s) , Red Currant Jelly
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) , Salt
  • 1 tablespoon(s) , Caraway Seeds
  • 1/4 cup(s) , Raisins

Instructions:
Quarter the cabbage and cut out the core, then cut quarters crosswise into slices about 1/8-inch thick. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add cabbage, water and vinegar. Cover and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the apple slices, currant jelly, salt, caraway seeds, and raisins .
Stir well; heat uncovered about 2 more minutes.
